Pursuant to the Planning Accreditation Board's standards, this rigorous program outlines a plan-of-study encompassing 37 consecutive hours of coursework in four semesters and 12 consecutive hours of coursework in two summer sessions. The period-of-residency for the Master of Arts Degree in Urban and Regional Planning is one year or the equivalent of two consecutive semesters of full-time enrollment. A minimum of five courses in one of the areas of concentration is required.
A concentration will be selected from 1) Community Development and Housing, 2) Environment and Land Use, and 3) Urban Design. Each area of concentration is designed to provide the student with a higher degree of knowledge and skills in a focused professional area of urban planning.
The Master Program Coordinator, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, serves as the program's primary advisor.
April 17, 2009 is the deadline for priority consideration for fall admissions. May 30, 2009 is the final deadline.
