Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Studies
A Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies is a great beginning into the broad fields of urban planning and public policy and administration. The undergraduate degree program offers a solid foundation for professional development. Our Bachelor of Arts degree objectives including the following:
Develop an understanding of the nature of Urban Studies gained through the core courses
Promote a social consciousness to assume responsibilities; to think critically about moral, economic, cultural and political problems; and to contribute to the improvement of society
Enhance communication both orally and in writing
Prepare students for employment opportunities as well as further professional development
To earn the Bachelor of Arts degree, 124 academic credit hours are required. Admission into the Bachelor of Arts program is governed by the regulations of Jackson State University's Office of Undergraduate Admission and the Department of Urban & Regional Planning.
