The Jackson State University Student Planning Association (SPA) is an organization of students in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Jackson State University, who share a common desire to use their academic training to effect social change. The organization exists to provide these students with a network and a community for intellectual and social exchange beyond the classroom setting. All students in the Department of Urban & Regional Planning program (DURP) are eligible members and are encouraged to get involved. Students in SPA are offered a variety of professional development opportunities and organize several social events each semester.
